On November 26th in Muscat, Oman Data Park launched the “Sahab” program for on-the-job training in collaboration with the Ministry of Labor, represented by the Employment and Training Support Center. The initiative aims to enhance and refine the skills of graduate applicants for various positions. The launch event took place at the company’s headquarters in the Knowledge Oasis under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Muhad Bin Said Baowain, the Minister of Labor.

Oman Data Park designed the Sahab program as part of its commitment to corporate social responsibility by contributing to the professional development of national talent. The initial phase of the program will focus on training for 15 out of 25 available positions.

Mr. Salem Bin Muslim Al Bousaidi, the Undersecretary for Human Resource Development at the Ministry of Labor, highlighted that the “Sahab” program is a qualitative initiative to employ 25 Omanis in highly specialized areas related to cloud computing and artificial intelligence initiatives. He emphasized that the program aims to create Omani competencies across various fields.

Abdulrahman Bin Mohammed Al Alawi, the Acting Director of the Employment and Training Support Center at the Ministry of Labor, noted that the program aims to enhance the professional growth of new graduates through training and development, refining their professional and technical skills. The program focuses on quality, innovation, and contributing to bridging the gap between academic education and the requirements of the job market, ensuring the qualification of new graduates with the skills demanded by the market.

Makbul Bin Salem Al Wahaibi, the CEO of Oman Data Park, stated that the Sahab program represents a qualitative addition to the recruitment process for graduates. It facilitates the rapid integration of beginners into professional and early work life, with a mechanism that ensures its effectiveness in achieving the set goals. The program’s selection process involves a careful evaluation of applicants meeting the minimum requirements for each job opportunity. Those selected undergo an assessment to identify suitable candidates for the presented positions. Successful candidates are then included in the initial shortlist of qualified candidates.
