The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MCIIP) reported a 25.5% increase in Omani non-oil exports to Saudi Arabia as of September 2023. The National Center for Statistics and Information’s September bulletin indicated a growth of RO 774 million in non-oil exports to the Kingdom, compared to RO 617 million for the same period in 2022.
Engineer Jassim bin Saif al Jadeidi, Technical Director of the MCIIP’s Trade and Industry Office, attributed the increase to the expansion of exports in several sectors, including mineral products and their manufactures, machinery, electrical equipment, parts, and food products. The value of non-oil exports in September 2023 alone reached RO 146.7 million, compared to RO 101.9 million in the same month of 2022, representing a 44% increase. Additionally, goods confiscated through the Empty Quarter crossing saw an increase, with a value of RO 18.55 million in September 2023 compared to RO 14.67 million in September 2022.
