Our Early Years and Vision

The story of Al Hassan Group begins in the 1970s, when brothers Hassan and Maqbool lived in a neighborhood where a single light bulb illuminated the alley for everyone. Inspired by their father’s advice, they were motivated to ensure that the light stayed on for all the people in their community. This spark of interest laid the foundation for their lifelong passion for electrical solutions.

The Birth of Al Hassan Group

In 1975, Al Hassan Group started as a small shop in Mattrah, selling fans, wires, and other electrical items. The brothers’ commitment to quality and customer service quickly earned them a loyal customer base. Two years later, in 1977, they expanded by opening their first electrical and lighting showroom in Hamriya and moving their office to the first floor of the shop. This marked the beginning of their journey toward becoming one of Oman’s leading business groups.

Diversification and Growth

By 1980, Al Hassan had diversified into electrical contracting activities, further expanding its operations while staying true to its core competency in electrical products. In 1992, Al Hassan Switchgear and Hi-Tech Services and Supplies were established, marking a significant step in the company’s growth. These new divisions enhanced the company’s ability to serve a larger market and solidified its position as a leader in Oman’s electrical industry.

Milestones and Achievements

Al Hassan Group’s success continued to grow throughout the years. In 2000, Al Hassan Switchgear won His Majesty’s Cup for Best Factory, a testament to its commitment to quality and excellence in manufacturing. In 2010, Al Hassan Electrical played a key role in lighting up the Royal Opera House in Muscat, a significant achievement that highlighted the company’s expertise in delivering exceptional products and services.

The same year, Al Hassan Switchgear received two major accolades, including the Best Brand in Switchgear category and recognition as one of the top 10 brands in Oman’s 130 top brands survey. In 2014, the company opened the Al Hassan Light Application Center in Shatti Al Qurum, further expanding its presence in the region.

A New Era and the Future

In 2016, Al Hassan Group unveiled a new logo, symbolizing its evolving identity and ongoing commitment to excellence. In 2020, the company moved its headquarters to Ghala, reinforcing its position as a leading business group in Oman. Today, Al Hassan employs over 300 people and maintains a nationwide network of channel partners, principals, and dealers, ensuring its continued success.
