OSCO Oman: A Legacy of Excellence
1971: The journey of OSCO Oman began when 30 engineers from Shapoorji Pallonji Group arrived to build the Qasr Al Alam Palace, a landmark project for His Majesty of Oman.
1975: Inspired by Shapoorji Pallonji’s values, OSCO Oman was founded to support Oman’s growth with innovative infrastructure solutions.
Building the Nation’s Infrastructure
Over the decades, OSCO Oman has contributed to key milestones in the country’s development.
- 1979: OSCO delivered civil engineering works for Oman’s first power plant in Gubrah, Muscat.
- 1980: OSCO built Oman’s tallest residential tower, a 17-storey structure in Muttrah. The Oman House still holds this record.
- 1984: Completed the National Bank of Oman’s Head Office, a vital structure for one of the country’s largest banks.
- 1986: Delivered the Cabinet Building for His Majesty.
- 1990: Designed and completed the first sewage treatment plant in Al Ansab, a pioneering turnkey project.
Landmark Commercial and Residential Projects
OSCO has played a pivotal role in Oman’s commercial and residential development:
- 1992: Completed the Muscat Municipality Building in Darsait in just 12 months.
- 1995: Led the commercial development of Shatti Al Qurum.
- 2005: Built Asia’s largest Toyota warehouse in Al Amerat.
OSCO’s diverse portfolio includes tourist resorts, township developments, and large-scale residential projects such as the Al Khodh Township (1985) and Liwa Township (2009).
Expanding Expertise
OSCO has continuously expanded its capabilities to deliver more complex and diverse projects:
- 1998: Delivered two prestigious projects: Robat Stadium in Salalah and the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
- 2002: Completed the Markaz Al Bahja Commercial Complex in Seeb.
- 2003: Established its MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) division.
Recognition for Excellence
The company’s achievements have been widely recognized:
- 2012: Awarded the Sultan Qaboos Mosque project, Oman’s second-largest mosque.
- 2014: Completed the Military Technical College, a prestigious educational institution.
- 2015: Marked 40 years of excellence with over 6,500 employees. OSCO also delivered Oman Convention Center Package-3 and Royal Oman Police Hospital accommodation blocks.
