- Hanging/support length: approximately 30 mm
- High-barrier liner must be suitable for direct food contact and supplier must provide laminate structure, thickness, food-contact certifications, tear/puncture data, OTR and WVTR
- Roasted coffee generates CO₂ after roasting; supplier must engineer the number, type, cracking pressure, flow capacity and location of one-way degassing valves for both bag capacities
- Supplier must advise maximum filling temperature and recommended cooling/degassing time prior to filling
- Liner must be hermetically heat-sealable
- Supplier to recommend heat sealer, jaw length, seal width, temperature, dwell time, cycle time, sealing procedure and integrity-checking method
- Nitrogen flushing required as an option; supplier to confirm whether a dedicated nitrogen port can be incorporated and recommend/provide a portable flushing unit
- Commercial offer must include MOQ, quantity price breaks, sample cost, production lead time, delivery lead time, packing, freight and warranty
- Important technical point: Standard PE liners alone should not automatically be considered sufficient for this application unless the supplier provides actual OTR/WVTR values demonstrating the required oxygen/aroma barrier. The RFQ specifically calls for a high-barrier food-grade liner.
- Delivery Terms: Delivery to Barka, Oman; Incoterms: Not provided
- Deadline: 10/9/2026

3. Sector
Food & Beverage Packaging – FIBC / High-Barrier Bulk Packaging for Coffee
We are Jasmine Oriental for Food and Business LLC, Oman, and we are currently looking for a suitable supplier for FIBC bulk bags with integrated food-grade high-barrier liners for the bulk packing, storage, and international transportation of roasted whole coffee beans.
We would like to receive your technical proposal and the best commercial quotation for both 500 kg and 1,000 kg capacities.
1. Application
- Product: Roasted Whole Coffee Beans
- Application: Bulk packing, storage and international export transportation
- Required capacities:
-
- 500 kg per FIBC
- 1,000 kg per FIBC
- Product characteristics: Roasted coffee continues to release CO₂ after roasting, therefore an appropriate degassing arrangement is required.
- Protection required against:
-
- Oxygen ingress
- Moisture vapour ingress
- External odour transfer
- Loss of coffee aroma/flavour
- Plant production capacity: Approximately 2 TPH
2. FIBC & Barrier Liner Requirement
We prefer a complete solution consisting of:
Outer FIBC + Integrated Food-Grade High-Barrier Liner + One-Way Degassing Valve
Kindly recommend the most suitable construction for roasted coffee beans.
Please provide:
- FIBC material and GSM.
- FIBC dimensions for both 500 kg and 1,000 kg capacities.
- Safe Working Load (SWL).
- Safety Factor.
- Lifting loop configuration.
- Filling and discharge arrangement.
- Recommended food-grade barrier liner material.
- Laminate construction/layers and thickness.
- Confirmation of suitability for direct food contact with roasted coffee beans.
- Relevant food-contact certificates/compliance documentation.
- Tear and puncture resistance details, where available.
3. Reference 1,000 kg FIBC Dimensions
For reference, the existing 1,000 kg square FIBC used with our filling arrangement has approximate dimensions of:
- Length: 870 mm
- Width: 870 mm
- Height: 1,050 mm
Kindly advise whether similar dimensions can be maintained with your integrated barrier liner or whether you recommend a different configuration.
4. Discharge Spout
Our discharge spout configuration is :
-
spout diameter: 300 mm
-
spout length: approximately 50 mm
- Hanging/support length: approximately 30 mm
Kindly review and recommend the appropriate dimensions based on your standard design and our application.
5. Barrier Performance
Kindly provide the actual barrier performance of the proposed finished liner, including:
- OTR – Oxygen Transmission Rate
- WVTR – Water Vapour Transmission Rate
The packaging should be suitable for maintaining the aroma, freshness and overall quality of roasted coffee beans during storage and international transportation.
6. One-Way Degassing Valve
As roasted coffee releases CO₂ after roasting, the liner should be available with a suitable one-way degassing valve.
Kindly provide:
- Confirmation that the valve is specifically suitable for CO₂ released from roasted coffee beans.
- Valve size/type.
- Opening/cracking pressure.
- Gas discharge/flow capacity.
- Recommended number of valves for 500 kg and 1,000 kg coffee bags.
- Recommended valve positioning.
- Confirmation that the valve allows CO₂ to escape while minimizing oxygen and moisture ingress.
- Confirmation that the proposed valve capacity is sufficient to prevent excessive pressure build-up inside the sealed liner.
Please recommend the appropriate valve configuration rather than assuming that one valve will be sufficient for these capacities.
7. Filling & Product Temperature
Kindly advise:
- Maximum recommended coffee bean temperature at the time of filling.
- Whether any minimum cooling/degassing period is recommended before filling.
Considering our production capacity of approximately 2 TPH, please also advise the practical filling and handling rate of the proposed FIBC/liner arrangement.
8. Heat Sealing
The barrier liner should be capable of being hermetically heat sealed after filling.
Kindly provide:
- Recommended heat-sealing method.
- Recommended heat sealer model/type.
- Jaw length and seal width.
- Recommended sealing temperature.
- Dwell/sealing time.
- Recommended sealing procedure.
- Approximate sealing cycle time per FIBC.
- Method for checking seal integrity.
- Price of the recommended heat-sealing equipment.
A portable/handheld sealing solution may also be proposed if suitable for this application.
9. Nitrogen Flushing
nitrogen flushing before final sealing for bulk roasted coffee beans.
kindly provide:
- Whether a dedicated nitrogen inlet/port can be incorporated into the liner.
- Whether you can supply or recommend a suitable portable nitrogen-flushing unit.
10. Commercial Requirement
For initial evaluation, kindly provide separate pricing for:
- 500 kg FIBC + integrated barrier liner + one-way degassing valve
- 500 kg FIBC + integrated barrier liner without degassing valve
- 1,000 kg FIBC + integrated barrier liner + one-way degassing valve
- 1,000 kg FIBC + integrated barrier liner without degassing valve
- Recommended heat-sealing equipment
Please also provide:
- Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ).
- Price breaks for different order quantities.
- Sample cost, if applicable.
- Production lead time.
-
Shipping/delivery lead time to Barka, Oman.
- Packing and freight details.
- Warranty, where applicable.
11. Samples for Production Trial
Before proceeding with a larger order, we would prefer to obtain a few sample FIBC units for an actual production trial at our facility.
The trial will allow us to evaluate filling, heat sealing, CO₂ degassing, bag handling, storage and discharge performance with roasted coffee beans.
Kindly confirm whether sample units can be provided.
We would appreciate your technical team reviewing the above application and proposing the most suitable and commercially competitive solution, rather than limiting the proposal strictly to the reference dimensions where you have a more suitable standard configuration.
Please share your technical datasheets, drawings, food-contact certifications, valve specifications and best commercial quotation for our evaluation.
